Alla riscossa! / To the rescue!

Ecco ci risiamo, secondo lockdown!

Ma del resto cosa potevamo aspettarci?

L’estate appena passata è stata significativa per questa seconda e potente ondata di contagi. La maggior parte delle persone si è comportata come se nulla fosse accaduto nei mesi precedenti, come se tutto fosse finalmente finito. Eppure eravamo stati avvisati!

Spiagge affollate, locali pieni di gente seppure con il distanziamento minimo obbligatorio e mascherine gettate per terra come fossero cimeli di guerra.

E così anche il virus si stava concedendo una vacanza, per poter ripartire all’attacco con l’arrivo dell’autunno e metterci nuovamente in ginocchio.

Pensate a come si sta divertendo…libero di circolare fra il rosso, l’arancione ed il giallo del nostro buffo paese oppure volando fra uno stato e l’altro senza interferenze aeree e senza l’obbligo della quarantena. Lui si presenta, senza invito ed entra nelle case degli altri creando dolore, sofferenza e scompiglio.

Davvero pensavate che le manovre del governo e la ricerca del vaccino, fossero le uniche soluzioni possibili per combattere questo virus?

Certo, potrebbero essere un aiuto, un grande aiuto ma se è vero che sono i grandi numeri a parlare, non dimentichiamoci che solo in Italia siamo in 60 milioni e se tutti e 60 avessimo avuto più senso civico e responsabilità, saremmo stati meno vulnerabili in questa seconda ondata.

Invece ancora una volta abbiamo dimostrato chi siamo! Mentre l’economia crolla, gli ospedali sono al collasso e le persone muoiono, noi pensiamo al colore della zona in cui viviamo e ci lamentiamo:

“Beato tu che sei arancione…”

“Ci avete fatto diventare rossi…facciamo una rivoluzione”

“Beh noi siamo ancora gialli, possiamo fare quello che ci pare!”

Il senso civico non è un vaccino contro le malattie ma è una grande forma di rispetto, che potrebbe salvarci dal qualunquismo e dall’indifferenza. Beh, sarebbe già tanto!

“Avanti popolo, zona rossa…alla riscossa…alla riscossa!”

Here we go again, second lockdown!

But what else could we expect?

The summer just passed was significant for this second and powerful wave of infections. Most people acted as if nothing had happened in the previous months, as if everything was finally over. Yet, we had been warned!

Crowded beaches, clubs full of people albeit with the minimum required distance and masks thrown on the ground as if they were war relics.

And so the virus was also taking a vacation, to be able to attack again with the arrival of autumn and put us on our knees again.

Think of how it’s having fun… free to move between the red, orange and yellow of our funny Country or flying between one State and another without aerial interference and without the obligation of quarantine. It shows up, uninvited, and enters the homes of others creating pain, suffering and confusion.

Did you really think that government maneuvers and vaccine research were the only possible solutions to combat this virus?

Of course, they could be a help, a great help but if it is true that large numbers speak, let’s not forget that in Italy we are about 60 million and if all 60 milliom had had more civic sense and responsibility, we would have been less vulnerable now.

Instead we proved once again who we are! As the economy collapses, hospitals are collapsing and people are dying, we think about the color of the area we live in and complain:

“Lucky you that you’re orange…”

“You made us turn red… let’s make a revolution”

“Well we’re still yellow, we can do what we want!”

The civic sense is not a vaccine against diseases but it is a great form of respect which could defeat the apathy. Well, it would’ve pretty good!

“Come on people, red zone… to the rescue… to the rescue!”
